The R8 platform was developed in conjunction with Lamborghini’s Huracan. No expense was spared to deliver a world-class product, and the result is a weight-saving aluminum frame with partial carbon fiber tub that yields an ideal combination of light weight, rigidity, and durability. It’s 40 percent stiffer than the first-generation car, but the mid-engine design still has the V10 behind the driver, housed under a glass panel that shows off its aluminum construction and gratuitous carbon fiber trim. With a 0-60 time of just 3.3 seconds, this Audi is definitely something to shout about.
