Choosing the right prestige car hire company.

One of the main questions that always pops up with new enquiries is always asking how they know they are using a reputable company.

Sadly, like any industry (especially involved in vehicles) there are going to be some who ruin the industries reputation.

To give you an example of a company like that;

A regular customer of ours wanted to hire a Ferrari for a few days but unfortunately all of ours were out. He then found another company who had one for the required dates.

All went well until he returned the car. Sadly the customer scratched the door mirror housing (It happens very easily with low and wide cars). Rather than just charging the customer a reasonable cost to repair it, they charged him for a new mirror, 2 days loss of hire that resulted in a bill of over £4,000!! All because of a small mark on the mirror.

When we have cars returned with minor damage, we only charge the amount set out on the contracts so if you damaged the mirror like above, we’d simply just charge for the repair.

We have been hiring out cars since 2003 to thousands of happy customers that we hope will come back to us to hire another car so we always make sure we are fair, honest and open with them to ensure a happy hire.

Another question that comes up a lot is regarding the excess insurance, mainly asking if we provide an excess waiver to reduce it. The simple answer is no.

The best way to look at it is, we are giving you a £200,000 car so if you only had an excess of £100, it wouldn’t be a big deal if you damaged it whereas if we take a £5000 excess, it’s then in everyone’s interest to look after the car and treat it as your own.

Any company that does offer this for a nominal fee is not a company we could ever recommend.

Super car hire is generally for a special occasion so it needs to be as easy as possible. If you’re hiring a bright red Ferrari 488 GTB for your wedding, the last thing you want to be worrying over is getting charged extortionate fees for something so minor or even getting pulled over by the police for inadequate insurance.

Total peace of mind is what we offer our customers every time.

The best advice we can give to help you find the right company is to look into the company, see how long they’ve been trading, what cars they actually own, do their reviews online seem real and finally, make sure you actually have the correct insurance provided by them to allow you to drive these cars.

You’ll be amazed at how many ‘established’ hire companies there are that try and get away with just using a standard motor trade policy.

Our self drive hire insurance is fully comprehensive and is exactly what is needed when dealing with Ferrari’s, Lamborghini’s, Aston Martin’s etc.

You’ll also be amazed at the amount of hire companies who operate from virtual offices and just act as a ‘middle man’ so they have no responsibility or control over the vehicles.
